ECHO CLIENTS IN OFFICIAL COMPETITION AT THE 69TH BFI LONDON FILM FESTIVAL

We’re delighted to celebrate our echo clients on two films selected for Official Competition at the 69th BFI London Film Festival!

BAD APPLES
Directed by Jonatan Etzler, this sharp UK drama explores the aftermath of a violent act in a small community, delving into questions of morality, complicity, and truth. With Costume Design by echo’s Sarah Blenkinsop.

ROSE OF NEVADA
Written and directed by Mark Jenkin, this atmospheric drama follows two young men embarking on an intense journey after a fishing vessel, which disappeared 30 years ago, suddenly washes up on the habour of a small Cornish village. Featuring Costume Design by echo’s Jo Thompson.

Both films are in the running for the Festival’s prestigious Best Film Award, with the winner to be announced on Sunday, the 19th of October. Congratulations and best of luck to all involved!

'ROSE OF NEVADA' US PREMIERE AT NEW YORK FILM FESTIVAL 2025

We’re thrilled that Mark Jenkin’s ‘ROSE OF NEVADA’ will have its US premiere at the New York Film Festival as part of the Official Selection, featuring Costume Design by echo client Jo Thompson.

The Film4-backed film stars BAFTA nominees George MacKay and Callum Turner and is produced by Denzil Monk.

The NYFF screening follows its North American premiere at Toronto International Film Festival and its world premiere at Fondazione La Biennale di Venezia.

We’re thrilled to celebrate four extraordinary films featuring the work of echo clients, all selected for the Special Presentations section at the 50th Toronto International Film Festival! 🎬✨

BAD APPLES’ - Directed by Jonatan Etzler, this satirical thriller stars Saoirse Ronan as a teacher driven to extremes by a violent student, revealing a community willing to ignore anything to preserve its peace. Costume Design by echo’s Sarah Blenkinsop.

CALIFORNIA SCHEMIN’’ - Actor James McAvoy makes his directorial debut in this wild, feel-good underdog tale based on a true story about two Scots faking it as Americans to pursue hip-hop fame. Production Design by echo’s Andy Drummond, BFDG.

ETERNAL RETURN’ - Directed by Yaniv Raz, this introspective drama follows Cass, a woman guarding herself against emotional pain—until she meets Virgil. Edited by echo’s Mark Everson, BFE.

ROSE OF NEVADA’ - Mark Jenkin’s film is an uncanny meditation on time, memory, and disappearance from one of Britain’s most distinctive auteurs. Costume Design by echo’s Jo Thompson.

The festival takes place 4–14 September 2025 in Toronto, Canada.

MARK JENKIN’S ‘ROSE OF NEVADA’ PREMIERING IN VENICE WITH COSTUME DESIGN BY JO THOMPSON

We’re thrilled to share that ROSE OF NEVADA, featuring Costume Design by echo client Jo Thompson, will premiere at the 2025 Venice Film Festival.

This Film4 and BFI-backed mystery-drama, directed by Mark Jenkin, stars BAFTA nominees George MacKay and Callum Turner. The story centres on a forgotten fishing village where a long-lost boat — the Rose of Nevada — mysteriously returns 30 years after vanishing at sea.

‘ROSE OF NEVADA’ will screen at the end of August as part of the official selection at the Venice Film Festival, which runs from 27 August to 6 September 2025.

Don’t miss the first look ROSE OF NEVADA, the drama from BAFTA award-winning director Mark Jenkins, featuring Costume Design by echo’s Jo Thompson.

Produced by Film4 and the BFI, it was shot entirely on location in Cornwall and stars George MacKay as Nick and Callum Turner as Liam.

The story unfolds in a forgotten fishing village where the long-lost boat, The Rose of Nevada, mysteriously reappears after 30 years.
