WE ARE CYCLING 500 MILES FOR SMART WORKS!
In celebration of International Women's Day, between 1st and 8th March, echo team: Georgie, Zoe, Nick, Anna + Millie will be cycling 500 miles to raise vital funds for Smart Works.
Smart Works is a UK charity that dresses and coaches unemployed women for their job interviews. They give women the confidence they need to reach their full potential, secure employment and transform their lives. In the last year, 62% got a job within a month of their appointment.
Smart Works is one of the amazing charities that we selected to donate part of our profits to in 2021 and we are so happy to be able to support them again with this cycle.

THE BAFTA 2022 NOMINATIONS ARE OUT!
The 2022 BAFTA Film nominations were announced today and a huge congratulations goes to echo Hair + Makeup designer Diandra Ferreira who's work featured in both, AFTER LOVE, which has been nominated for 4 BAFTA awards, and FEMME which is nominated for Best British Short! Congratulations also go to Best British Film-nominated EVERYBODY’S TALKING ABOUT JAMIE, which was cut by echo editor Mark Everson and features Costume Design by Guy Speranza!
THE LINEUP FOR SXSW 2022 HAS BEEN ANNOUNCED!
SXSW has revealed its 2022 lineup! The roster includes PIRATES, which was directed by Reggie Yates and features work from echo HODs Rachel Clark, Francesca Massariol + Diandra Ferriera, and Joy Gharoro-Akpojotor's short film FOR LOVE, with Costume Design by Buki Ebiesuwa. SXSW will also host the episodic premieres of Daina Reid's SHINING GIRLS, shot by echo DoP Bonnie Elliott, and HALO, directed by Otto Bathurst and featuring Production Design by Sophie Becher!
ZHANG + KNIGHT DIRECT NEW ARLO PARKS MUSIC VIDEO 'SOFTLY'
Zhang + Knight direct the music video for Arlo Parks' new single SOFTLY - with Production Design by echo client Oian Arteta. Arlo described the visuals as a 'Wim Wenders/Hopper New York fever dream'. Be sure to check it out if you haven't already!
ITALIAN STUDIES PREMIERES IN THE US TODAY!
Adam Leon's ITALIAN STUDIES premieres in the U.S this Friday! The film premiered at Tribeca last year and stars Vanessa Kirby. The UK leg of the shoot was designed by echo's production designer Alexandra Toomey. We'll keep you updated for the official U.K release

The film received the Grand Jury Prize and U.S. Dramatic Audience Award at Sundance, and the Golden Globe for Best Motion Picture (Foreign Language).
The moving drama about family and the experience of immigration was written and directed by Lee Isaac Chung and features the brilliant work of echo's DOP Lachlan Milne ASC, ACS, NZCS.

At Number 8, we couldn't forget the multiple award-winning SUCCESSION! This binge-worthy season brought us even more gripping Roy family drama - not to mention the fantastic production, cast and score. After the cliffhanger finale, we're very happy to hear that HBO has renewed the show for a fourth season!
ECHO BEST OF 2021: GAGARINE
Coming in at Number 9 on our countdown is GAGARINE - which premiered at Cannes Film Festival and was directed by duo Fanny Liatard + Jérémy Trouilh. The film intertwines tough themes of poverty and systemic oppression on-going in France with stunning magical-realist imagery.
IT’S A SIN IS NOMINATED FOR BEST NEW SCRIPTED SERIES AT THE INDEPENDENT SPIRIT AWARDS !
Nominations for the 2022 Independent Spirit Awards have been released! IT'S A SIN has been nominated for the Best New Scripted Series award. The fantastic five-part series was written by Russell T. Davies, directed by Peter Hoar and cut by echo Editor Sarah Brewerton. The series is still available to watch on All4, if you haven't binged it already!
