‘BLACK CHURCH BAY’ HAS FINISHED SHOOTING IN WALES!

With Production Design and Costume Design by echo’s multi-talented Paix Robinson, BFDG, Rhys Marc Jones’s first feature length film, stars Joe Locke, Rakie Ayola and Celyn Jones.

This gripping thriller follows a deputy headteacher forced to cover up his affair with a sixth-form student after the boy suddenly disappears. We can’t wait to see how the story unfolds!

Production financiers are BBC Film, Ffilm Cymru Wales awarding National Lottery Funding and Screen Scotland, as well as private financiers, LA-based Manzini Films, UK-based Rhyza and Kamila Serkebaeva, plus Brazil-based Daniel Staut.

LONDON FILM FESTIVAL 2025: ‘PILLION’ AND ‘THE HISTORY OF SOUND’

Echo is proud to see Harry Lighton’s ‘PILLION’ and Oliver Hermanus' ‘THE HISTORY OF SOUND’ premiering in the UK this Saturday (18th October) at the 69th BFI London Film Festival.

Showcasing work by echo’s Hair + Make-Up Designer Diandra Ferreira and Production Designer Francesca Massariol, ‘PILLION’ stars Alexander Skarsgård and Harry Melling exploring power dynamics, intimacy and identity.

Starring Paul Mescal and Josh O'Connor, and featuring Costume Supervision (UK) by echo’s Paix Robinson, ‘THE HISTORY OF SOUND’ is a story about closeted love, music, passion and remembrance.

In May, these incredibly moving LGBTQ+ romance films made their successful run at the Cannes Film Festival, where ‘PILLION’ won the Un Certain Regard Award for Best Screenplay and ‘THE HISTORY OF SOUND’ was nominated for the Palme d'Or. Now, we are thrilled for them to make their UK debut tomorrow at London’s Southbank Centre as part of LFF’s ‘Headline Galas’ category.

The BAFTA Cymru Awards will be held in Newport at the ICC Wales on Sunday 5 October.
