'MARIE MADELEINE' OPENS IN FRENCH CINEMAS TODAY, SHOT BY ECHO'S NICOLAS CANNICCIONI!

Haitian-set drama MARIE MADELEINE releases in French cinemas today, with cinematography by echo’s Nicolas Canniccioni!

Written and directed by Géssica Généus, MARIE MADELEINE follows an unlikely friendship between a sex worker and preacher’s son that rocks their community.

For his work on the film, Nicolas Canniccioni was awarded Best Cinematography at Festival International du Film Francophone de Namur (FIFF).

Following its premiere at Cannes, the film also screened at TIFF and the BFI London Film Festival.

It was produced by SaNoSi Productions, and co-produced by Ayizan Productions, Stenola Productions, Bidibul and Metafilm.

Starring Sian Clifford, LADY is now out in US cinemas, with cinematography by Korsshan Schlauer, production design by Agnieszka Dębska, and edited by Josh Mallalieu.

Samuel Abrahams' debut feature is a loopy and moving mockumentary that stars Fleabag’s Sian Clifford as a delusional aristocrat who convinces a struggling film director (Laurie Kynaston) to capture her every move.

LADY has received rave reviews from the New York Times, Variety, The Guardian, and Empire, which called it “an engrossing study of invisible womanhood that plays out with bizarre hilarity and emotional sensitivity.”

Produced by Anna Mohr-Pietsch and Stewart Le Marechal for MetFilm, LADY premiered at the BFI London Film Festival last year.

ANDREW COMMIS HAS BEGUN SHOOTING “HIGH GROUND”!

Shoot has begun on Stephen Johnson’s frontier Western HIGH GROUND and echo’s Director of Photography Andrew Commis, ACS is shooting the picture. Set in Australia’s Arnhem Land and Kakadu National Park, starring Guy Pearce (pictured here in PROPOSITON) and produced by Bunya Productions, the film follows a bounty hunter and a young indigenous man embarking in a manhunt, which will reveal a secret that will ultimately pit them against each other.
