‘WHERE THE RIVER BEGINS’ PREMIERES AT TIFF!

In its World Premiere, WHERE THE RIVER BEGINS screens today in Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF)’s Centrepiece programme, with cinematography by Director of Photography echo’s Nicolas Canniccioni.

Directed by Juan Andrés Arango, the bracing but poetic drama follows an Emberá woman displaced by violence as she undertakes a dangerous journey in search of a better life for herself and her daughter.

The film was produced by Columbia’s Inercia Películas and Canada’s Midi la Nuit.

2026 BFI LONDON FILM FESTIVAL LINE-UP ANNOUNCED, FEATURING ECHO CLIENT WORK!

The 2026 BFI London Film Festival line-up has been announced, featuring work by several echo clients across the festival’s Galas, Laugh, Dare, Thrill and Journey programmes.

In the Galas programme, BUNKER features Cinematography by echo’s Ben Smithard, BSC. Directed by Florian Zeller, the film stars Javier Bardem and Penélope Cruz.

The Laugh programme presents IT GETS WORSE, edited by echo’s Josh Mallalieu on episodes 2, 4 +6, and directed by Mounia Akl.

MARIE MADELEINE will screen in the Dare programme, featuring work by echo’s Director of Photography Nicolas Canniccioni and directed by Géssica Généus.

Also in the Dare programme, AT NIGHT features Costume Design by echo’s Holly Rebecca, and is directed by Beatrice Gibson.

The Thrill programme features BLACK CHURCH BAY, directed by Rhys Marc Jones and featuring Production Design and Costume Design by echo’s Paix Robinson, BFDG.

In the Journey programme, IN THE SHADOWS features Production Design by echo’s Paix Robinson, BFDG, and is directed by Anthony Wonke.

Also screening in the Journey programme is VISIONQUEST, featuring work by echo’s Director of Photography Ben Smithard, BSC on episodes 5 + 6 and directed by Christopher J. Byrne, Gandja Monteiro, Vincenzo Natali and Terry Matalas.

LAUNDREAMS will screen as part of the Call Your Bluff short film compilation, featuring Editing by echo’s Donya Majidi-Maguire BFE and Production Design + Costume Design by echo’s Paix Robinson, BFDG. The short is written and directed by Evie Ward-Drummond and Amber Gadd.

The 2026 BFI London Film Festival will run from 7th–18th October 2026.

Further titles featuring work by echo clients have been announced for the 2026 Toronto International Film Festival.

Selected for the Centrepiece programme, 'MARIE MADELEINE' will have its North American Premiere, featuring work by Director of Photography Nicolas Canniccioni. The film is directed by Géssica Généus.

Also screening in the Centrepiece programme, 'WHERE THE RIVER BEGINS' will have its World Premiere, featuring work by Director of Photography Nicolas Canniccioni. The film is directed by Juan Andrés Arango.

In the Wavelengths Features programme, 'AT NIGHT' will have its North American Premiere, featuring Costume Design by Holly Rebecca. The film is directed by Beatrice Gibson.

The 2026 Toronto International Film Festival takes place from 10th – 20th September.

‘MARIE MADELEINE’ PREMIERED AT CANNES FILM FESTIVAL YESTERDAY!

‘MARIE MADELEINE’, featuring echo’s Director of Photography Nicolas Canniccioni, premieres yesterday at the 2026 Cannes Film Festival in the Cannes Première section.

The film is a new feature by Géssica Généus, continuing her exploration of identity and culture.

The Cannes Film Festival runs from 12th–23rd May 2026.

With Cinematography by echo’s Shane F. Kelly, ‘BLUE MOON’ has been nominated for 'Best Original Screenplay' and 'Best Actor'(Ethan Hawke). Directed by Richard Linklater, the film offers a witty and heartfelt portrait of lyricist Lorenz Hart, who reflects on his past partnership with Richard Rodgers and the changing world of musical theatre.

‘PERFECTLY A STRANGENESS’ is nominated for ‘Best Documentary Short’, with echo’s Nicolas Canniccioni as Director of Photography. Directed by Alison McAlpine, the short premiered at Cannes and follows three donkeys as they journey across a vast and grand desert, exploring movement, discovery and quiet wonder.

The 98th Oscar’s will take place this Sunday 15th March in Hollywood at the Dolby Theatre.

‘HOW TO HAVE SEX’ SELECTED FOR CANNES FILM FESTIVAL 2023!

Molly Manning Walker’s HOW TO HAVE SEX has been officially selected for this year’s Un Certain Regard competition at Cannes Film Festival. The feature directional debut from Walker was shot by echo’s Director of Photography Nicolas Canniccioni and costumes were designed by echo’s George Buxton. Congratulations to all the cast and crew.
