‘LEFTOVER WOMEN’ SCREENS AT TIFF TODAY!

Following its World Premiere at TIFF on Friday, LEFTOVER WOMEN will screen once more today as part of the Short Cuts programme, featuring Hair + Make-Up Design by echo’s Diandra Ferreira.

Directed by Atalanta Swire, the comedy short follows Erin (Anjana Vasan), summoned by a government order that goes out to all single women on their 35th birthday telling them they are now classified as ‘Leftover’ and will need to be processed.

It was produced by Phoebe McNally and Karima Sammout-Kanellopoulou, and commissioned by WePresent.

We're pleased to share that ‘LEFTOVER WOMEN’ has been selected to have its World Premiere in the Short Cuts programme at the 2026 Toronto International Film Festival, featuring Hair + Make-Up Design by echo’s Diandra Ferreira.

Directed by Atalanta Swire and produced by Phoebe McNally and Karima Sammout-Kanellopoulou, the short joins this year's official TIFF line-up.

The 51st Toronto International Film Festival takes place from 10th – 20th September 2026.

FURTHER ECHO CLIENT PROJECTS ANNOUNCED FOR TIFF 2026!

Further titles featuring work by echo clients have been announced for the 2026 Toronto International Film Festival.

Selected for the Centrepiece programme, 'MARIE MADELEINE' will have its North American Premiere, featuring work by Director of Photography Nicolas Canniccioni. The film is directed by Géssica Généus.

Also screening in the Centrepiece programme, 'WHERE THE RIVER BEGINS' will have its World Premiere, featuring work by Director of Photography Nicolas Canniccioni. The film is directed by Juan Andrés Arango.

In the Wavelengths Features programme, 'AT NIGHT' will have its North American Premiere, featuring Costume Design by Holly Rebecca. The film is directed by Beatrice Gibson.

The 2026 Toronto International Film Festival takes place from 10th – 20th September.
