TONY KEARNS, ACE, ISE JOINS AMERICAN CINEMA EDITORS!

We’re delighted to share that echo’s Tony Kearns, ACE, ISE has officially become a member of American Cinema Editors (ACE).

Tony’s recent work includes ‘THE DEATH OF BUNNY MUNRO’ (Episodes 5 + 6), for which he received a 2026 BAFTA TV Craft Awards nomination for Titles and Graphic Identity, ‘BLACK MIRROR: USS CALLISTER: INTO INFINITY’ (Season 7, Episode 6), for which he received a 2026 ACE Eddie Awards nomination for Best Edited Limited Series, and ‘THE END OF THE F***ING WORLD’ (Season 2, episodes 1 -4) which was directed by Lucy Forbes and produced by Clerkenwell Films, Netflix and Dominic Buchanan Productions. The series was awarded a BAFTA for Best Drama Series 2020.

Congratulations to Tony on this well-deserved achievement.

We're delighted to share that echo’s Hair + Make-Up Designer Diandra Ferreira and Production Designer Andy Drummond, BFDG are now members of the European Film Academy.

Diandra recently worked on ‘PILLION’, for which she won Best Hair + Make-Up Design at the 2025 BIFAs. The film was written and directed by Harry Lighton and produced by BBC Film, BFI and Element Pictures.

Andy's recent work includes ‘CALIFORNIA SCHEMIN’, directed by James McAvoy and produced by Bankside Films and Ransom Films, which was selected to premiere at the 2025 Toronto International Film Festival.

Congratulations to Diandra and Andy on this well deserved achievement!

We're proud to celebrate a number of projects featuring work by echo clients, that have received nominations at the 2026 National Film Awards!

‘I SWEAR’, featuring Editing by echo’s Sam Sneade, received nominations for Best Drama, Best British Film and Outstanding Performance (Robert Aramayo). The film was directed by Kirk Jones and produced by One Story High and Bankside Films.

‘ROSE OF NEVADA’, featuring Costume Design by echo’s Jo Thompson and Hair + Make-Up by Hannah Eccleston, was nominated for Best Feature Film and Best Independent Film. The film was directed by Mark Jenkin and produced by Film4 Productions and BFI Films.

‘THE BALLAD OF WALLIS ISLAND’, featuring Production Design by echo’s Alexandra Toomey, received a nomination for Best Comedy in Film & TV. The film was directed by James Griffiths and produced by Baby Cow Productions.

‘SECRET SERVICE’, featuring Editing by echo’s Matteo Bini on episodes 1, 2 and 3, received nominations for Best TV Drama Series, Best Producer in Film & TV (Gail Egan and Andrea Calderwood), Best Actress in a TV Series (Gemma Arterton), Best Supporting Actor in a TV Series (Rafe Spall and Roger Allam), Best Supporting Actress in a TV Series (Amaka Okafor and Alex Kingston), Best Action in a Film / TV Series and Best Screenplay in a TV Series. The series was directed by James Marsh and produced by Potboiler.

‘THE NIGHT MANAGER’ Season 2, featuring Costume Design by echo’s Oliver Cronk, Editing by Napoleon Stratogiannakis and Additional Editing by John Dwelly BFE on episode 3, received nominations for Best TV Drama Series, Best Actor in a TV Series (Tom Hiddleston) and Best Action in a Film / TV Series. The series was directed by Georgi Banks-Davies and produced by The Ink Factory.

‘UNDER SALT MARSH’, featuring Editing by echo’s Alastair Reid on episodes 1, 2, 5 and 6, and directed in part by Mary Nighy, received nominations for Best TV Drama Series and Best Actress in a TV Series (Kelly Reilly). The series was produced by Little Door Productions in association with Sky Studios.

‘SURVIVING EARTH’, featuring Costume Design by echo’s Oliver Cronk, received a nomination for Best Independent Film. The film was directed by Thea Gajić and produced by My Accomplice and Sona Films.

‘PILLION’, featuring Hair + Make-Up Design by echo’s Diandra Ferreira, received a nomination for Best British Film. The film was written and directed by Harry Lighton and produced by BBC Film, BFI and Element Pictures.

‘ON BECOMING A GUINEA FOWL’, featuring work by echo’s Director of Photography David Gallego, ADFC, received a nomination for Best Foreign Language Film. The film was directed by Rungano Nyoni and produced by BBC Film and Element Pictures.

Winners will be announced at the 12th National Film Awards Ceremony on 1 July 2026 at Porchester Hall, London.

Ffern has unveiled its new Summer 2026 campaign, ‘The Green Knight’, featuring Costume Design by echo’s Susie Coulthard.

Released to mark the summer solstice and produced by Newland, the seasonal film reimagines the medieval tale of Sir Gawain and the Green Knight.

Directed by Julia Jackman, who has previously collaborated with Susie on '100 NIGHTS OF HERO', the film stars Indira Varma and Faye Marsay, bringing a contemporary interpretation to the classic fable.

Following its acclaimed festival run, ‘PILLION’ is now available to stream on HBO in the US and NOW TV in the UK, featuring Hair + Make-Up Design by echo’s Diandra Ferreira, who won Best Make-Up + Hair Design at the BIFA Craft Awards.

Written and directed by Harry Lighton, and produced by Cornerstone, Element Pictures and BBC Film, the film stars Alexander Skarsgård and Harry Melling.

The feature premiered in the Un Certain Regard section at the 2025 Cannes Film Festival, where it received a seven-minute standing ovation. It was also nominated for several BAFTA Awards and screened at Telluride Film Festival, New York Film Festival and BFI London Film Festival.

McCain’s new campaign ‘The Dad Joke Effect’ is now out, featuring Hair + Make-Up Design by echo’s Diandra Ferreira.

Directed by Jim Archer and produced by MindsEye, the campaign encourages dads to show a gentler, sillier side of masculinity through humour and everyday moments.

A recent Urbana feature spotlights echo’s Director of Photography Andrew Commis, ACS, following his participation in the 11th Festival Sinema Australia Indonesia (FSAI) 2026.

Invited as one of the festival’s featured industry experts, Andrew spoke about the importance of storytelling and visual language in filmmaking.

Alongside the interview, Andrew also led masterclasses during the festival, which ran from 8–23 May across eleven cities in Indonesia.

‘SAVAGE HOUSE’ makes its SXSW London premiere today, featuring Costume Design by echo’s Alex Bovaird.

Written and directed by Peter Glanz, and produced by Record Player Films and Paramount Pictures, the film is set in 18th century England during a pox outbreak and the Jacobite uprising. The film stars Richard E. Grant alongside Claire Foy as the formidable Lady Savage.

‘SAVAGE HOUSE’ is set for a cinema release on 5 June 2026.

We’re excited to share that ‘A MUSTARD SEED’, featuring Costume Design by echo’s Buki Ebiesuwa, was awarded Best Short Film (Genesis Award) at the London Independent Film Festival.

Directed by Femi Oladigbolu and produced by Harris Dickinson, the film follows Mide, a young man raised in a strict Nigerian Christian Pentecostal household in Britain, as he navigates grief, doubt and faith.

The film stars Hope Ikpoku Jnr as Mide and Tayo Aluko as Pastor Tayo, and is available to watch on BBC iPlayer.
