Huge shoutout to echo’s Natasha Lawes who worked as Hair + Make Up Designer on Tesco’s new commercial Directed by Fernando Nogari.
Produced by Iconoclast, the advert gives the classic Tesco bag and logo a playful twist, swapping the familiar slogan for phrases that reflect what people might need in the moment.

BIFA-winning writer Alice Birch makes her directorial debut with this fantasy drama for Searchlight Pictures, starring Cate Blanchett and Spike Fearn. Produced by House Productions, Blanchett’s Dirty Films and Film4, this film follows a woman burdened by a unique sensitivity, glimpsing the soul's most intimate requirements, often to her own severe detriment.
Production began this Autumn and we are so excited to see the final outcome!

UNDERLAND SCREENED AT THE 33RD CAMERIMAGE FESTIVAL, WITH CINEMATOGRAPHY BY RUBEN WOODIN DECHAMPS!
A huge congratulations to echo’s Ruben Woodin Dechamps who worked as Director of Photography on ‘UNDERLAND’, which screened on Sunday 16th at the 33rd Camerimage Festival.
Directed by Rob Petit and inspired by Robert Macfarlane’s bestselling book, the documentary delves into hidden worlds beneath the Earth’s surface.
Produced by Sandbox Films, the team journey from the soil beneath an ash tree into sacred caves, storm drains, melting glaciers, underwater burial sites, and a deep underground physics lab, revealing the wonder and mystery of these rarely seen places!
We also want to shout out echo’s editor Luke Dunkley who’s work on ‘THE DAY OF THE JACKAL’ will be screening today as part of the 'TV Series Competition Line Up'!
ALEXANDRA TOOMEY AS PRODUCTION DESIGNER ON JD SPORTS NEW CHRISTMAS SHORT FILM!
JD Sports has unveiled a special Christmas short film celebrating the creativity and spirit of today’s youth. With Production Design by echo’s Alexandra Toomey, this short puts storytelling directly into the hands of 286 young people, aged roughly 16–25, who documented their lives across London, Berlin, Paris, Naples, and Tokyo.
Directed by Francis Plummer and Produced by Iconoclast, this fresh, perspective, seen entirely through the eyes of young people, feels both heartwarming and empowering.

‘DOWN CEMETERY ROAD’ WITH CINEMATOGRAPHY BY ECHO’S NICK COOKE
Shot by echo’s Director of Photography Nick Cooke on the final three episodes, ‘DOWN CEMETERY ROAD’ is an eight-part series based on the novel by Mick Herron (‘Slow Horses’).
Starring Emma Thompson and Ruth Wilson, the story follows private investigator Zoë and neighbour Sarah as they are drawn into a chilling government conspiracy after a house explodes in their Oxford neighbourhood and a young girl goes missing.
The series debuted on AppleTV+ on the 29th of October 2025 with the first two episodes, continuing weekly until the finale on the 10th of December 2025, and has already received critical acclaim, including ★★★★★ from The Guardian.

For one night only, ‘KENNY DALGLISH’, with Editing by echo’s Matteo Bini, premiers tonight (Wednesday 29th October) in selected cinemas across the UK and Ireland.

BIFA has released its 2025 Raindance Maverick Award Longlist and we are so pleased to see showcased Iain Forsyth and Jane Pollard’s ‘THE EXTRAORDINARY MISS FLOWER’, featuring Costume Design by echo’s Susie Coulthard!
This lyrical documentary film, starring Emilíana Torrini and Caroline Catz and narration by Richard Ayaode and Nick Cave, is based on the true story of Geraldine Flower and the unearthing of a suitcase filled with love letters.
The full list of nominations will be revealed on Monday 3rd November with winners unveiled at the BIFA awards ceremony on Sunday 30th November in London.
