HUGE CONGRATULATIONS TO ECHO CLIENT ARTTU SALMI ON SECURING THE SOUGHT-AFTER POSITION OF HEAD OF EDITING AT LONDON FILM SCHOOL.

Huge congratulations to echo client Arttu Salmi, BFE on securing the sought-after position of Head of Editing at London Film School. Such a well-deserved recognition of his talent!

We’re thrilled for Arttu as he steps into this prestigious role. He’ll continue his work as a film editor while bringing his industry experience into the classroom.

His recent credits include ‘SEBASTIAN’ (dir. Mikko Mäkelä), which screened at Sundance and the BFI London Film Festival; A24’s ‘TUESDAY’, which premiered at Telluride and competed for the First Feature award at LFF; ‘THE END WE START FROM’ (dir. Mahalia Belo), which also premiered at Telluride and earned him a BIFA nomination for Best Editing; and ‘DREAMERS’ (dir. Joy Gharoro-Akpojotor), for which he shared editing credit on this Berlinale-nominated feature, also competing in this year’s BFI LFF First Feature Competition.

The BAFTA Cymru Awards will be held in Newport at the ICC Wales on Sunday 5 October.

Directed by Rhys Marc Jones, this film showcases the many talents of echo’s Paix Robinson, BFDG who served as Producer, Production Designer and Costume Designer.

Massive congratulations to echo’s Yan Miles, ACE on winning an Emmy last night at the 2025 Creative Arts Emmy Awards! This was awarded to Yan for ‘Outstanding Picture Editing For A Drama Series’ for his editing on the episode “Who Are You?” of ‘ANDOR’ Season 2.

This Disney+ and Lucasfilm series starring Diego Luna, is created by Tony Gilroy with writing also by George Lucas and Dan Gilroy.

Congratulations to the whole ANDOR team including echo’s Morten Højbjerg, whose editing also contributed to the series’ overall success.

‘LADY’ SET FOR WORLD PREMIERE AT BFI LONDON FILM FESTIVAL 2025!

We’re delighted to announce that 'LADY', the feature directorial debut from Samuel Abrahams, will make its world premiere at the BFI London Film Festival.

This satirical mockumentary, shot entirely at Somerleyton Hall in Suffolk, stars Fleabag’s Sian Clifford as a self-obsessed aristocrat whose quest for attention takes a supernatural turn when she literally begins to vanish.

Cinematography by echo’s Korsshan Schlauer, Production Design by Agnieszka Debska, and Editing by echo’s Josh Mallalieu.

We can’t wait to see how this sharply original film written by Abrahams and Miranda Campbell Bowling plays out on screen!

This year’s London Film Festival programme has just been announced, and we’re thrilled to see so many projects from echo clients featured.

In the ‘Headline Galas’ category: ‘PILLION’, directed by Harry Lighton, with Hair + Make-Up Design by echo’s Diandra Ferreira and Production Design by Francesca Massariol and ‘THE HISTORY OF SOUND’, directed by Oliver Hermanus, with Costume Supervision (UK) by Paix Robinson. The festival will close with ‘100 NIGHTS OF HERO’, directed by Julia Jackman, with Hair + Make-Up by Natasha Lawes and Costume Design by Susie Coulthard.

In the ‘Special Presentations’ category: ‘THE DEATH OF BUNNY MUNRO’ (episodes 1 & 2), directed by Isabella Eklöf, with the series featuring work by echo’s Director of Photography Nadim Carlsen DFF, Production Designer Alexandra Toomey, Costume Designer Holly Rebecca, and Editors Luke Dunkley and John Dwelly.

THE THINGS YOU KILL’ SELECTED AS CANADA’S OSCAR SUBMISSION WITH CINEMATOGRAPHY BY ECHO’S BARTOSZ SWINIARSKI

We’re proud to celebrate echo client Bartosz Świniarski, Director of Photography, for his brilliant work on ‘THE THINGS YOU KILL’, which has officially been selected as Canada’s submission for the Best International Feature Film category at the 2026 Academy Awards.

Directed by Alireza Khatami, this gripping Turkish-language dramatic thriller premiered at Sundance earlier this year. The film follows a university professor who seeks vengeance after his mother’s suspicious death, uncovering long-buried family secrets while grappling with his own conscience. ‘THE THINGS YOU KILL’ will be released in Canadian cinemas on 19 September.

'PILLION' IS PART OF THE 2025 TELLURIDE FILM FESTIVAL LINEUP

We are excited to announce that ‘PILLION’ is part of the Telluride Film Festival 2025 lineup, showcasing work by echo’s Hair + Make-Up Designer Diandra Ferreira and Production Designer Francesca Massariol.

After its success at the 78th Cannes Film Festival in May, where it earned a 7-minute standing ovation and the award for Best Screenplay (written by Harry Lighton) in Un Certain Regard, this British drama will have its US premiere in Colorado this weekend for Telluride’s 52nd run.

PILLION’ stars Alexander Skarsgård and Harry Melling and is produced by Cornerstone, Element Pictures, and BBC Film.

‘THE DEAD OF WINTER’ PREMIERES AT LOCARNO WITH EDITING BY ECHO’S TIM MURRELL

‘THE DEAD OF WINTER’ made its world premiere at the Locarno Film Festival earlier this month, with Editing by echo client Tim Murrell.

Directed by Brian Kirk, the suspense thriller stars Emma Thompson as a woman travelling alone through snowbound northern Minnesota, who interrupts the kidnapping of a teenage girl. Hours from the nearest town and with no phone service, she soon realises she is the young girl’s only hope.

Already receiving rave acclaim, THE GUARDIAN praised the film as “an outrageously enjoyable suspense thriller” in its glowing 5 star review.

We’re delighted to celebrate our echo clients on two films selected for Official Competition at the 69th BFI London Film Festival!

BAD APPLES
Directed by Jonatan Etzler, this sharp UK drama explores the aftermath of a violent act in a small community, delving into questions of morality, complicity, and truth. With Costume Design by echo’s Sarah Blenkinsop.

ROSE OF NEVADA
Written and directed by Mark Jenkin, this atmospheric drama follows two young men embarking on an intense journey after a fishing vessel, which disappeared 30 years ago, suddenly washes up on the habour of a small Cornish village. Featuring Costume Design by echo’s Jo Thompson.

Both films are in the running for the Festival’s prestigious Best Film Award, with the winner to be announced on Sunday, the 19th of October. Congratulations and best of luck to all involved!

We’re thrilled to celebrate echo’s Alex Holmes on winning ‘The Bunya Productions: Production Design for a Television Production’ at the Australian Production Design Guild (APDG) Awards for his work on the Netflix series ‘ERIC'.

Directed by Lucy Forbes and produced by SISTER Pictures, ‘ERIC' tells the moving story of a father coming to terms with his son’s disappearance. Alex’s incredible Production Design brings the series’ emotional journey to life.

We’re thrilled that Mark Jenkin’s ‘ROSE OF NEVADA’ will have its US premiere at the New York Film Festival as part of the Official Selection, featuring Costume Design by echo client Jo Thompson.

The Film4-backed film stars BAFTA nominees George MacKay and Callum Turner and is produced by Denzil Monk.

The NYFF screening follows its North American premiere at Toronto International Film Festival and its world premiere at Fondazione La Biennale di Venezia.
