FIRST LOOK AT ‘PRIDE AND PREJUDICE’!

Netflix has unveiled the first look at PRIDE AND PREJUDICE, a six-part limited series adaptation of Jane Austen’s classic novel — shot by echo’s Director of Photography Chloë Thomson, BSC.

Directed by Euros Lyn and written by Dolly Alderton, the series stars Emma Corrin as Elizabeth Bennet, Jack Lowden as Mr. Darcy, and Olivia Colman as Mrs. Bennet, alongside a stellar cast including Rufus Sewell, Louis Partridge, Rhea Norwood, and Freya Mavor.

Currently in production in the UK, this fresh retelling promises both wit and elegance.

We’re thrilled to celebrate four extraordinary films featuring the work of echo clients, all selected for the Special Presentations section at the 50th Toronto International Film Festival! 🎬✨

BAD APPLES’ - Directed by Jonatan Etzler, this satirical thriller stars Saoirse Ronan as a teacher driven to extremes by a violent student, revealing a community willing to ignore anything to preserve its peace. Costume Design by echo’s Sarah Blenkinsop.

CALIFORNIA SCHEMIN’’ - Actor James McAvoy makes his directorial debut in this wild, feel-good underdog tale based on a true story about two Scots faking it as Americans to pursue hip-hop fame. Production Design by echo’s Andy Drummond, BFDG.

ETERNAL RETURN’ - Directed by Yaniv Raz, this introspective drama follows Cass, a woman guarding herself against emotional pain—until she meets Virgil. Edited by echo’s Mark Everson, BFE.

ROSE OF NEVADA’ - Mark Jenkin’s film is an uncanny meditation on time, memory, and disappearance from one of Britain’s most distinctive auteurs. Costume Design by echo’s Jo Thompson.

The festival takes place 4–14 September 2025 in Toronto, Canada.

Huge congratulations to echo’s Hair + Make-Up Designer Natasha Lawes and Costume Designer Susie Coulthard, whose latest project ‘100 NIGHTS OF HERO’ will close this year’s Venice Film Festival Critics’ Week.

Directed by Julia Jackman, this “feminist fairy tale” stars Emma Corrin, Charli XCX, Maika Monroe, Nicholas Galitzine, Richard E. Grant, Amir El-Masry, and Felicity Jones.

‘THE SON AND THE SEA’ – Discovery Section
Directed by Stroma Cairns, this intimate and visually striking debut is set against the wild northern Scottish coast and follows three young men navigating a quiet coming of age. With Cinematography by echo’s Ruben Woodin Dechamps and Editing by Andonis Trattos.

‘WINTER OF THE CROW’ – Platform Section
A tense cat-and-mouse thriller set on the eve of Poland’s Martial Law era, directed by Kasia Adamik and based on a short story by Nobel Prize-winner Olga Tokarczuk, with editing by echo’s Andonis Trattos.

‘RETREAT’Discovery Section
A genre-bending debut from Ted Evans, following a young woman at a remote Deaf wellness retreat where nothing is what it seems, with production design by echo’s Elena Muntoni.

MARK JENKIN’S ‘ROSE OF NEVADA’ PREMIERING IN VENICE WITH COSTUME DESIGN BY JO THOMPSON

We’re thrilled to share that ROSE OF NEVADA, featuring Costume Design by echo client Jo Thompson, will premiere at the 2025 Venice Film Festival.

This Film4 and BFI-backed mystery-drama, directed by Mark Jenkin, stars BAFTA nominees George MacKay and Callum Turner. The story centres on a forgotten fishing village where a long-lost boat — the Rose of Nevada — mysteriously returns 30 years after vanishing at sea.

‘ROSE OF NEVADA’ will screen at the end of August as part of the official selection at the Venice Film Festival, which runs from 27 August to 6 September 2025.

Congratulations to echo’s Jon Henson for his Production Design work on ‘Considering What’ directed by Steve Rogers! Jon has been awarded the Silver Film craft award for Production Design.

The award comes with Biscuit being awarded Most Creative Production Company of 2025!

The ceremony took place on the 10th of July in Margate, UK.

Big congratulations to echo’s Editor Yan Miles, ACE and echo’s Costume Designer Alex Bovaird on their 2025 Emmy nominations! 🌟

Yan is nominated for Outstanding Picture Editing for his work on ‘ANDOR – Who Are You?’, with ‘ANDOR’ receiving 14 nominations in total. Congratulations also to echo’s Hair + Make-Up Designer Emma Scott and echo’s Editor Morten Højbjerg, who both contributed to the series’ overall success.

Alex is recognised for Outstanding Contemporary Costumes on ‘THE WHITE LOTUS – Same Spirits, New Forms’. The series leads with an impressive 23 nominations this year. 🏆

EDINBURGH FILM FESTIVAL HAS REVEALED THE 2025 LINE-UP!

Edinburgh Film Festival has revealed the 2025 line-up, exhibiting the work of several echo clients!

SURVIVING EARTH’, written and directed by Thea Gajic, including Production Design by Elena Muntoni and Costume Design by Oliver Cronk, is in the Out of Competition category.

TWO NEIGHBORS’, written and directed by Ondine Viñao, featuring Hair + Make-Up Design by Kat Morgan and Editing by Sam Sneade, is in competition for The Sean Connery Prize for Feature Filmmaking Excellence. In the same category is 'LOW RIDER' directed by Campbell X and BFI-backed with Editing by Mark Keady.

ODYSSEY’, written and directed by Gerard Johnson, with Cinematography by Korsshan Schlauer, showcases in the Midnight Madness category.

We are also excited for ‘BULK’ to be in Midnight Madness as Ben Wheatley’s film features ideas from echo’s Costume Designer Jo Thompson and Hair + Make-Up Designer Emma Scott.

ALEX HOLMES AMONGST APDG AWARDS NOMINEES!

CONGRATULATIONS TO ALEX HOLMES FOR HIS DOUBLE NOMINATIONS AT THE APDG AWARDS.

Nominated for The Rosco Digital Imaging Design For a Commercial Award, for his Production Design on the ‘Telstra - Wherever We Go’ directed by Steve Rogers and produced by Revolver. The commercial follows a fairytale like story of 'The Shoemaker' who fixes various types of shoes through time.

We’re also celebrating his nomination for The Bunya Productions: Production Design for a Television Production for the TV series ‘ERIC’, directed by Lucy Forbes and produced by Sister Pictures. ‘ERIC’ follows the story of grief, as a father attempts to come to terms with his sons disappearance.

The Film Grand Prix was awarded to Steve Roger’s ‘Considering What? - Paris Paralympics 2024’ with echo’s Jon Henson contributing as Production Designer.

‘Libresse – Never Just a Period’  directed by Lucy Forbes earned the BRONZE recognition with Production Design by echo’s Alex Holmes and 2nd Unit Cinematography by Jo Jo Lam.

A huge congratulations goes to Alex Holmes for winning the Bronze Film Craft at Cannes Lions for Production Design on ‘The Shoemaker’ by Steve Rogers.
