‘POMPEII: OUT OF TIME WITH TOM HIDDLESTON’ TRAILER OUT!

Directed by Tom Barbor-Might and produced by Plimsoll Productions for Disney+ and National Geographic, the documentary-drama follows Tom Hiddleston as he uncovers hidden stories of everyday life in one of history’s most famous ancient cities.

‘POMPEII: OUT OF TIME WITH TOM HIDDLESTON’ is scheduled to premiere on July 23rd on National Geographic.

ECHO CLIENTS WORK FEATURED IN THE 2026 EDINBURGH INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL LINE-UP!

We're pleased to share that several projects featuring work by echo clients have been selected for the 2026 Edinburgh International Film Festival.

Selected for the Sean Connery Prize for Feature Filmmaking Excellence competition, 'MISSION' features work by echo clients Andy Drummond, BFDG, as Production Designer and Nick Cooke as Director of Photography. The film is directed by Paul Wright and produced by 65 Wilding Films, Early Day Films, BBC Film, BFI and Screen Scotland.

Also selected for the Sean Connery Prize for Feature Filmmaking Excellence competition, ‘THE STATE OF US’ features work by echo client Yunus Roy Imer as Director of Photography. The film is directed by Ollie Gardner and Jake Harvey, and produced by CrossDay Productions and Freeway Entertainment.

Selected for the Out of Competition programme, opening film ‘THE INCOMER’ features work by echo client Sarah Blenkinsop as Costume Designer. The film is written and directed by Louis Paxton and produced by Pilea Pictures and BFI.

Also screening for the Out of Competition category, ‘EXTRA GEOGRAPHY’ features work by echo client Andrew Commis, ACS, as Director of Photography. The film is directed by Molly Manners and produced by Sarah Brocklehurst for Brock Media.

The 79th Edinburgh International Film Festival takes place from 13–19 August 2026.

Janicza Bravo's ZOLA comes in at a hugely-deserved second place on our Best of 2021 list! Based on A'Ziah 'Zola' King's viral twitter thread and true story, #TheStory, the film took us on a rollercoaster of witty humour mixed with its gritty narrative of sex trafficking in the US. It is worthy of all it’s rave reviews and, we’re sure, soon to be many award nominations and wins in the new year!

This moving fairytale of childhood, parenthood + friendship is a strong echo favourite from this year!

The sixth spot in our Top 10 TV + Film of 2021 selection goes to Jasmila Zbanic's QUO VADIS, AIDA?

After its premiere at the Venice Film Festival, the powerful film received nominations at both this years Oscars and BAFTAs. QUO VADIS, AIDA? offers a raw depiction of the events of the Bosnian War and was a must for our Best of 2021 list!

2021, another year in a pandemic and another year we are grateful for some great Film & TV! As usual, we are counting down the Top 10 that our echo team have loved this year! First up at Number 10 is...

DRIVE MY CAR, directed by Ryusuke Hamaguchi! We aren't alone in our appreciation, the film premiered at the 2021 Cannes Film Festival where it was selected for the Palme d'Or and won three awards including Best Screenplay. The film has also been selected as the Japanese entry for the Best International Feature Film at the 94th Academy Awards.

Reggie Yates' directorial debut PIRATES is out in cinemas today! The 3x BIFA nominated comedy was lensed by echo DoP Rachel Clark, designed by Production Designer Francesca Massariol, Hair + Make-Up Design by Diandra Ferreira, and consultant editing by Mark Everson. Get yourself to the cinema!

What a year 2020 has been! A year where we’ve arguably watched more Film and TV than ever and entertainment helped us escape from reality when we’ve needed to the most! As usual we counting down our Top 10 TV and Films of the year…

So without further ado, at Number 10 is THE THIRD DAY! The mini-series hit our screens back in September and kept us on the edge of our seats. A brilliant cast and crew which included echo Editors Simon Smith, Luke Dunkley and Dan Roberts and Director of Photography David Chizallet, AFC.
