"MAN ON WIRE" ON TONIGHT AT 9PM!
James Marsh’s MAN ON WIRE is on tonight at 9pm on Sky Documentaries. The BAFTA and Oscar winning film is about tightrope walker Philippe Petit's daring, but illegal, high-wire routine performed between New York City's World Trade Center's in 1974! The brilliant doc was cut by Marsh’s longtime collaborator, echo’s Editor Jinx Godfrey, ACE.
A PLEDGE FROM ECHO!
We have spent the last few days trying to figure out how best to use our voice and platform in the entertainment industry to best support our black clients, peers and friends. There is so much for all of us to do and so much to learn but it’s important that we now communicate and commit on what we are going to do to make a real lasting impact.
We are starting by making a donation to UKBLM Fund and going forwards we pledge that 2% of echo’s yearly profits will be going to charitable organisations and we will be prioritising charities that focus on minority groups and the injustices and racism that they face in day to day life and within our industry.
We are also aware that just donating money isn’t enough and that time is incredibly valuable. We are currently working on how to provide this and our next step is to set up a volunteering programme which sees all staff members being able to take one paid day a month to volunteer for organisations who support minority groups, both, in everyday life and into the very white and privileged industry that is Entertainment.
We know we have a long way to go and we are still working on what else we can do to change, improve and do better. We will keep you updated on our journey and we want you to hold us accountable to these commitments.
But know this, we are fully committed to the fight and the work starts now!
BAFTA TV AND CRAFT NOMINATIONS!
We are so pleased for the following clients who have been nominated for BAFTA awards today: Director of Photography Joe Anderson for his work on TOP BOY (pictured); Editors Jinx Godfrey, ACE and Simon Smith for their work on CHERNOBYL, which has also received a further 5 nominations including Best Mini-Series; Hair + Make-Up Designer Kirstin Chalmers for her designs on CATHERINE THE GREAT; and Hair + Make-Up Designer Loz Schiavo for PEAKY BLINDERS.
We’d also like to congratulate our clients who worked on the following nominated shows; Editor Yan Miles, ACE who cut eps 1 + 3 of Season 3 of THE CROWN which received 3 nominations including Best Drama Series; Production Designer Dick Luck who designed Season 2 of THE END OF THE F***ING WORLD which has also received a nom for Best Drama Series along with 2 other nods; Production Designer Morgan Kennedy for his work on GIRI/HAJI, which has received 2 nominations including Best Drama Series; Editor Napoleon Stratogiannakis who cut THE ABUSED, nominated for Best Single Documentary; and finally Director of Photography Nick Cooke who shot RESPONSIBLE CHILD which is nominated for Best Single Drama.
Sadly the ceremony this year will be held in a closed studio with nominees joining virtually to accept their awards. BAFTA Craft will take place on July 17th and BAFTA TV 2 weeks later on the 31st July!

HAY FESTIVAL: FILMING IN LOCKDOWN!
Great to see the Hay Festival be the first drama to film on location during lockdown! Helena Bonham Carter and Dominic West joined forces to shoot scenes from Hamlet, Macbeth, Taming of the Shrew, and other Shakespeare classics. It was all shot in a single day, made possible by a skeleton crew including Benjamin Caron and echo editor Yan Miles.

"WHITE LINES" HITS NETFLIX TOMORROW!
WHITE LINES will be available on Netflix from tomorrow! Yan Miles, ACE cut eps 1, 2, 9 + 10 with Director Nick Hamm and Kim Gaster worked on eps 4 + 7 with Directors Luis Prieto and Ashley Way. The 10 ep drama, follows a woman travelling to Ibiza to find out what happened to her brother who went missing years earlier…
"THE GREAT" IS OUT TODAY IN THE US!
THE GREAT is released today on Hulu in the US! The new comedy-drama, based on Catherine The Great, stars Elle Fanning and Nicholas Hoult. The amazing costumes in the series are designed by echo’s Emma Fryer and Production Designer Kave Quinn and Editor Nicolas Gaster also both worked on episode 1 of the show. A UK release date is yet to be announced but hopefully soon!

The new TENA Campaign has been released! The beautiful advert was directed by Savanah Leaf, produced by Academy Film and features costume design by Buki Ebiesuwa.

The new Apple TV series TRYING is released on the streaming service today! The show, a comedy about a couple going through the adoption process, is directed by Jim O'Hanlon. It stars Rafe Spall, Esther Smith and Imelda Staunton and features production design by John Stevenson.

Mark Kermode has called it one of his “favourite films of the year” and CALM WITH HORSES get a digital release today! Nick Rowland’s film debut, starring Cosmo Jarvis and Barry Keoghan, features Hair + Make-Up Design by Emma Scott and is Co-Edited by Andonis Trattos.
"BAD EDUCATION" HAS AN ONLINE RELEASE IN THE US TOMORROW!
Cory Finley’s BAD EDUCATION is being released online in the US tomorrow on HBO! The film is based on a true story and stars Hugh Jackman and Allison Janney and features costumes designed by Finley’s regular collaborator, echo’s Alex Bovaird. A UK release date is set to be announced soon.

Ali Abbasi’s BORDER is currently streaming on All 4. The brilliant Un Certain Regard winner will be available to for the next month and is shot so beautifully by echo’s Director of Photography Nadim Carslen, it’s a must watch!

"KILLING EVE" SEASON 3 AVAILABLE TOMORROW FROM 6AM ON iPLAYER!
KILLING EVE Season 3 will be released in the US today but not to worry UK, from 6am tomorrow (for the very keen) we can stream the first episode on iPlayer. DoP Carlos Catalan shot episodes 3 + 4 for Director Miranda Bowen. The series will also start on BBC One on Sunday 19th April at 9pm and new episodes following each Sunday after that.
MARCUS MUMFORD "YOU'LL NEVER WALK ALONE"!
Marcus Mumford’s music video for his charity single YOU’LL NEVER WALK ALONE has been released! Due to Covid-19 the video was shot in isolation but with help and guidance from echo DoP Edgar Dubrovskiy via video call. All proceeds from the song will go to Grenfell Foundation and War Child UK.
