Bong Joon-ho’s, Palme d'Or winner, PARASITE is at number 4 on our Best Of 2019 list! The South Korean film has united critics with it’s witty and brilliant social satire and we definitely didn’t disagree!
ECHO'S BEST OF 2019: "MOFFIE"!
Half way through our countdown and it’s Oliver Hermanus’ MOFFIE! So much more than a war movie, the film is set in the brutal apartheid-era in South Africa and is the story of young gay desire on the war front. The incredible cinematography and music, beautiful yet claustrophobic, contribute to the intensity of the film!

Today’s choice is PORTRAIT OF A LADY ON FIRE! Céline Sciamma’s Golden Globe nominated film has has been racking up noms and awards since it’s premiere at Cannes this year and was a firm echo favourite at LFF!
ECHO'S BEST OF 2019: "DIVINE LOVE"!
DIVINE LOVE is number 7 in our list! Gabriel Mascaro’s film, described as “disco-dystopian”, screened at Sundance, Berlin and LFF this year and is a brilliant piece of cinema with particuarly beautiful cinematography!
ECHO'S BEST OF 2019: "A WHITE, WHITE DAY"!
A WHITE, WHITE DAY is number 8 on our Best Of 2019 list! Nominated for the Critic Week Grand Prize at Cannes this year, Hlynur Palmason’s film also screened at TIFF and was beautifully shot by echo’s Director of Photography Maria von Hausswolff.

At number 10 is Shannon Murphy’s BABYTEETH! The remarkable debut feature from Murphy screened at both London and Venice this year and we loved it - not to mention it’s shot by echo’s brilliant DoP Andrew Commis, ACS!
"RESPONSIBLE CHILD" AIRS ON BBC TWO TONIGHT AT 9PM!
The BBC’s one off drama, RESPONSIBLE CHILD, airs tonight on BBC Two at 9pm! The drama, directed by Nick Holt and shot by echo Director of Photography Nick Cooke, is based on a true story of a 12 year old child being tried for murder as an adult.

We love how Production Designer Jon Henson managed to sneak in his own take on the famous “plug boy” into the 2019 Sainsbury’s Christmas ad! His drawings featured in the commercial and also as part of a print campaign in the Metro!

"CHERNOBYL" + "THE CROWN" BOTH NOMINATED FOR A GOLDEN GLOBE!
The Golden Globe noms for 2020 have been announced and we are excited to say that both CHERNOBYL and THE CROWN are nominated! CHERNOBYL, cut by echo Editors Jinx Godfrey and Simon Smith is nominated for Best Limited Series; and THE CROWN Season 3, with eps 1 + 3 edited by echo’s Yan Miles, is nominated for Best Drama Series!
The awards take place in LA on 5th January!

Harry Styles new music video for latest single ADORE YOU is released today! Directed by Dave Meyers and with Production Design by Laura Ellis Cricks, the video takes places on fictional island Eroda.
SUNDANCE LINEUP 2020!
Sundance 2020 Lineup has been announced and we are very excited to say the following client projects will all be screened at the festival: Sean Durkin’s THE NEST, with Hair + Make-Up Design by Emma Scott, will have it’s World Premiere; TESLA, shot by DoP Sean Price Williams, will screen in the US Drama Competition along with Lee Isaac Chung’s MINARI lensed by DoP Lachlan Milne, ACS; Aneil Karia’s SURGE, shot by Stuart Bentley, BSC and with production design by Alexandra Toomey, will be competing in the World Cinema Drama category; and HIS HOUSE, with costume design by Holly Rebecca, will screen in the Midnight section!
The festival runs from 23rd January - 2nd February 2020 in Salt Lake City.

The new Aston Martin spot, BEAUTIFUL IS RELENTLESS, features brilliant costume design by echo’s new client Buki Ebiesuwa! The ad is directed by Daisy Zhou and produced by Great Guns.
