Echo Director of Photography, Carlos Catalan, is currently shooting episodes 3 + 4 of the new season of KILLING EVE! The third series of award winning drama should hopefully be on our screens next year.
EDITOR SIMON SMITH WINS AN EMMY FOR HIS WORK ON "CHERNOBYL"!
Huge Congratulations to echo’s Editor Simon Smith who won an Emmy last night for his work on CHERNOBYL! Simon cut episodes 2, 4 and co-edited 5 of Johan Renck’s critically acclaimed series but it was Simon’s work on episode 2 “Please Remain Calm” that took home the prize!

The wait is over and Season 3 of award winning series TOP BOY lands on Netflix today! Director of Photography Joe Anderson and Editor Morten Højbjerg worked on eps 1-3 for Director Marcus Reinaldo Green, while DoP Chloë Thomson, BSC shot eps 4 + 5 for Director Nia Dacosta.

Echo Costume Designer, Emma Fryer, has been working hard prepping on THE GREAT for the last couple of months and the new 10 part series has now begun shooting! The show for Hulu, written by Tony McNamara (co-writer of THE FAVOURITE) will star Nicholas Hoult and Elle Fanning.

ECHO FESTIVAL FOCUS: "THE FRIEND"!
Gabriela Cowperthwaite’s THE FRIEND has it’s World Premiere at TIFF today! The film was shot by echo’s DoP Joe Anderson and with an all star cast of Dakota Johnson, Jason Segal, Casey Affleck and Gwendoline Christie.
ECHO FESTIVAL FOCUS: “A WHITE, WHITE DAY”!
TIFF is underway and after it’s World Premiere at Cannes back in May, Hlynur Palmason’s A WHITE, WHITE DAY will screen at the festival today. The film was beautifully shot by echo’s Director of Photography Maria von Hausswolff and is set in the raw and atmospheric Iceland countryside.
ECHO FESTIVAL FOCUS: "DOGS DON'T WEAR PANTS"!
Toronto Film Festival starts tomorrow and after it’s premiere at Cannes this year, DOG’S DON’T WEAR PANTS will screen on the opening day at the festival! Directed by J-P Valkeapää, this brilliant film was cut by echo’s new Editor client Mervi Junkonnen. Look out for the film also screening at BFI London Film Festival next month.
"BABYTEETH": ECHO FESTIVAL FOCUS!
BABYTEETH, directed by Shannon Murphy, is premiering at Venice today! The film - which is shot by echo’s Director of Photography, Andrew Commis, ACS - is nominated for Golden Lion for Best Film at the festival. BABYTEETH is also in official competition at the BFI London Film Festival next month.
"THE KING": ECHO FESTIVAL FOCUS!
David Michôd’s THE KING has it’s World Premiere today at Venice Film Festival ahead of screening at London Film Festival next month! The historical drama stars Timothée Chalamet and Roberts Pattinson and tells the story of Henry the V. The wonderful costumes were designed by echo’s Jane Petrie, who previously collaborated with Michôd on WAR MACHINE.
TELLURIDE FILM FESTIVAL STARTS TODAY!
Telluride Film Festival 2019 gets underway today and this years lineup is finally announced! Screening at this year’s festival is Rupert Goold’s JUDY with excellent production design by Kave Quinn; and Dan Friedkin’s LYREBIRD which features costume design by the brilliant Guy Speranza. Both films will also be screened at TIFF next week!
Telluride runs from the 30th August - 2nd September!

ALL THIS VICTORY, directed by Ahmad Ghossein, will screen at Venice Film Festival Critcs week this weekend! The film was cut by echo’s Editor Yannis Chalkiadakis and is set during the war in Lebanon in 2006.

DOP ANDREW COMMIS, ACS STARTS ON "BRAVE NEW WORLD"!
The shoot on BRAVE NEW WORLD has been underway for a couple of weeks with Costume Designer Susie Coulthard on board and now echo’s DoP Andrew Commis, ACS has also joined the team to shoot episodes 3, 4, 7 + 8 with Directors Craig Zisk and Andrij Parekh! The series is based on Aldous Huxley’s novel of the same name.

Season 5 of PEAKY BLINDERS is here! You can catch the first episode tonight on BBC One at 9pm. As usual, the brilliant Loz Schiavo designed the Hair + Make-up (as she has done since the show began).
LACHLAN MILNE, ACS WRAPS ON "MINARI"!
Lee Isaac Chung’s MINARI has now wrapped! Director of Photography, Lachlan Milne, ACS was working with Chung on the A24 and Plab B feature which tells the story of a Korean family chasing the American Dream in 1980s rural Arkansas.
EDINBURGH TV AWARDS WINNERS!
The Edinburgh TV Awards have announced their winners and we are pleased to say that PATRICK MELROSE won Best UK Drama, edited by the all echo team of Tim Murrell, Luke Dunkley, Dan Roberts and Simon Smith; and THE ABUSED (pictured), cut by Napoleon Stratogiannakis won the award for Best Documentary.
