"BORG VS MCENROE" OUT IN THE US TODAY!
Directed by Janus Metz and shot by Niels Thastum DFF, BORG VS MCENROE is the story of the legendary Wimbledon match between Björn Borg and John McEnroe in 1980. Starring Shia LaBeouf, who plays McEnroe and Sverrir Gudnason portraying Borg, the film is produced by SF Studios and The Danish Film Institute.
"BORDER" NOMINATED FOR UN CERTAIN REGARD AT 2018 CANNES FILM FESTIVAL!
The lineup for the Cannes Film Festival was announced today. Congratulations go to new echo client Nadim Carlsen, Director of Photography on Ali Abbasi's feature, BORDER, which is selected in competition for Un Certain Regard. The Cannes Film Festival runs from 8th - 19th May.
EDITING BEGINS ON "HANNA"
The new 8 part Amazon television series, HANNA, produced by Working Title TV and NBC Universal International is now underway. Created by David Farr who wrote the original film that launched Saoirse Ronan, tells the story of an ex CIA operative who trains his daughter to be the perfect assassin. Starring Esme Creed-Miles, Joel Kinnaman and Mireille Enos, Morten Højberg cuts episodes 1 + 2 directed by Sarah Adina Smith and Dan Roberts cuts episodes 3 + 4 directed by Jon Jones.

"THOROUGHBREDS" RELEASED IN UK CINEMAS TODAY
After great reviews following Sundance and it's US release earlier this month, Cory Finley's THOROUGHBREDS is out in the UK today. With costume design by Alex Bovaird and produced by B Story and Focus Features, the psychological thriller, starring the late Anton Yelchin, tells the story of two upper-class teenage girls played Anya Taylor Joy and Olivia Cooke, who would be perfectly harmless on their own but prove to be homicidal in one another’s company!
BAFTA TV NOMINATIONS ANNOUNCED!
The nominations for this year's BAFTA TV Awards are out and we would like to congratulate our clients for their work on the following shows; THREE GIRLS has been nominated for 3 awards including Best Mini-Series, with costume design by Emma Fryer; THE CROWN Series 2 follows suit with 3 awards including Best Drama Series with costume design by Jane Petrie; Anupam Kher has been nominated for Best Supporting Actor for THE BOY WITH THE TOPKNOT, edited by Sarah Brewerton and PEAKY BLINDERS has also been nominated for Best Drama Series with hair + make-up design by Loz Schiavo and edited by Dan Roberts. The award ceremony will take place in London on May 13th.
"TRUST" IS OUT TODAY IN THE US!
Directed by Danny Boyle, Susanna White, Jonathan Van Tulleken, Dawn Shadforth and Emanuele Crialese, the new FX Productions + Cloud Eight Films drama, TRUST is out today in the US. The ten part series is set in 1973 and centres on the abduction in Italy of John Paul Getty III, then-heir to Getty Oil. Written by Simon Beaufoy and exec produced by Danny Boyle, Morten Højbjerg cuts episode 9 + 10 of the season, directed by Susanna White.

THE CROWN secured six nominations in total including the nomination for Jane Petrie and her wonderful costumes whilst PEAKY BLINDERS secured four nominations including the nominations for both Dan Roberts and Loz Schiavo. The BAFTA Craft Awards take place on 22nd April 2018. Congrats!

"CURFEW" BEGINS!
Director of Photography Carlos Catalan and Editor Sarah Brewerton have started on CURFEW, the new 8 part original drama from Sky starring Adrian Lester, Sean Bean, Malachi Kirby and Phoebe Fox. Created by Matthew Read and produced by Endemol Shine’s Tiger Aspect, alongside Moonage, the hi-octane UK original is set in the world of street racing. The car racers will compete in customised and weaponised vehicles as they race across Britain in an attempt to escape the control of a totalitarian government. Both Carlos and Sarah are working on episode 5 for director Chris Smith and Sarah is currently cutting episode 2 directed by Colm McCarthy.
SHOOTING STARTS ON "JUDY"
Shooting has started on two-time Olivier winner Rupert Goold's new drama JUDY with production design by Kave Quinn. Produced by Pathé and David Livingstone at Calamity Films, the film follows legendary performer Judy Garland when she arrives in London in 1968 to perform a series of sold-out concerts. The star studded cast includes Renée Zellweger as Judy and here is a first look!
WATCH "THE THEORY OF EVERYTHING" TONIGHT ON ITV 3
You can catch the multi-award winning movie, THE THEORY OF EVERYTHING on ITV 3 tonight at 10pm edited by long time collaborator Jinx Godfrey, along with echo's new editor client, Mark Keady who was Associate Editor on the film. The story takes a look at the relationship between the famous physicist, the late Stephen Hawking (played by Eddie Redmayne) and his wife (Felicity Jones). Produced by Working Title and directed by James Marsh, the film won three BAFTAS as well as being nominated for many more including Best Editing alongside an Academy Award for Eddie Redmayne's performance as well as many other Academy Award nominations.
MAINELAND IS RELEASED TODAY IN THE US!
The Documentary, MAINELAND, directed by Miao Wang comes out in the US today. It follows the enormous wave of "parachute students" from Mainland China enrolling in U.S. private schools. Shot over three years in China and the U.S., MAINELAND tells a multi-layered coming-of-age tale. Its is shot by Sean Price Williams and produced by Three Waters Productions.
"7 DAYS IN ENTEBBE" IS OUT IN US CINEMAS TODAY!
José Padilha's 7 DAYS IN ENTEBBE will be released in the USA today, with Production Design by Kave Quinn. Produced by Participant Media and Working Title Films, the film is inspired by the true events of the 1976 hijacking of an Air France flight en route from Tel Aviv to Paris. The cast includes Rosamund Pike and Daniel Brühl and was in competition at Berlin Film Festival this year. The film is released in the UK on May 11th.

TBT - CELEBRATING INTERNATIONAL WOMAN'S DAY: "SUFFRAGETTE"
Today's throwback is to Jane Petrie's wonderful Costume Design on SUFFRAGETTE, showing on Film4 tonight at 9pm in aid of International Woman's Day. Released back in 2015, the award-winning movie, directed by Sarah Gavron and starring Carey Mulligan, tells the story of the Suffragette movement and how it led to women in the UK finally having the right to vote.

The issues surrounding gender equality are reduced to a series of questions posed by children in the new Vodafone advert RAISING VOICES released today. Michelle May was the Costume Designer and the humorous yet provocative spot was directed by Hanna Maria Heidrich.
