"TWO FOR JOY" STARTS SHOOTING
Production Designer, Laura Ellis Cricks and Costume Designer, Sarah Blenkinsop start shooting today on writer/director Tom Beard's debut feature, TWO FOR JOY. The family drama, produced by Blonde to Black Pictures and Pretty Bird, follows a daughter (Billie Piper), her bed-ridden mother (Samantha Morton), and her troubled younger brother, as they work through themes of mental illness and young carers.

Chris Addison directs the MGM produced gender-reversing remake of the 1988 comedy DIRTY ROTTEN SCOUNDRELS starring Anne Hathaway and Rebel Wilson as two down-on-their luck con artists who plot to scam a wealthy tech prodigy.

“OUTLAW KING” STARTS SHOOTING
David Mackenzie directs Chris Pine, Aaron Taylor-Johnson and Florence Pugh in the Sigma Films and Anonymous Content feature for Netflix, with costume design by Jane Petrie and hair design by Kirstin Chalmers. The historical drama stars Pine as ‘Robert the Bruce’, the outlawed Scottish King who leads an army to defeat the occupying British army.
“MORNING” BEGINS SHOOT
Costume Designer, Holly Rebecca is now shooting the directorial debut, MORNING written and directed by award-winning artist Juliet Ellis and produced by Colin Pons. The film is a poetic meditation on loss and friendship and tells the heartbreaking story of a young girl's struggle to come to terms with her mother's death.
LUKE DUNKLEY CUTS “OPHELIA”
The feature stars Daisy Ridley, Naomi Watts, and Tom Felton as the leads of this Shakespearean adaptation. Directed by Claire McCarthy, the story reimagines HAMLET from Ophelia’s perspective, based on Lisa Klein’s novel of the same name.
MORTEN HØJBJERG EDITS “KEEPERS”
The psychological thriller explores the true unsolved mystery of three lighthouse keepers who disappeared from their post on a desolate island. This is the feature debut for BAFTA-nominated director Kristoffer Nyholm (known for his work on the Danish series THE KILLING and BBC’s TABOO), with Gerard Butler, Peter Mullan, and Connor Swindells starring as three lighthouse keepers who turn against each other.

Congratulations to Michael Pearce's feature BEAST, designed by ECHO's Laura Ellis Cricks, starring Jessie Buckley and Johnny Flynn, and to Clio Barnard's DARK RIVER, co-edited by ECHO's Luke Dunkley, starring Ruth Wilson. Both are set to screen in TIFF's Platform series, which opens September 8th.
“BORG/MCENROE” ANNOUNCED TO OPEN TORONTO FILM FESTIVAL
The film, starring Shia LaBeouf, Sverrir Gudnason and Stellan Skarsgard will have it’s world premiere on September 7th and open the festival. Directed by Janus Metz and lensed by ECHO's Director of Photography, Niels Thastum, the biopic tells the story of one of the greatest sports rivalries of all time between McEnroe (LaBeouf) and Swedish star Bjorn Borg in the 1970s and 1980s.
CARLOS CATALAN LENSES "DON'T LOOK AT THE FINGER"
DON'T LOOK AT THE FINGER is a visual project by artist Hetain Patel. Produced by Film & Video Umbrella, the film explores a West African wedding ceremony through choreographed dance, Kung Fu and sign language. Lensed by Director of Photography, Carlos Catalan, the project will premiere in late September at Manchester Art Gallery & The QUAD Derby before touring nationwide.

DAVID GALLEGO SHOOTS "BRAKLAND"
David Gallego, ADFC is set to shoot Danish drama BRAKLAND (Sticks and Stones), set for release in 2018. Director Martin Skovbjerg’s feature debut will begin on the Southern Danish islands this summer, to tell the story of a teenage boy from Copenhagen who must navigate a new social order when he moves to a small provincial town.
COSTUME DESIGNER GUY SPERANZA WRAPS ON "STAN AND OLLIE"
The feature, directed by Jon S. Baird and produced by Faye Ward for Fable Pictures for BBC Films and eOne Entertainment stars John C. Reilly and Steve Coogan as the infamous comedic duo Laurel and Hardy. STAN AND OLLIE follows their final tour through post-war Britain as they reunite to attempt to revive their careers.

With costumes by Emma Fryer, the thriller RIVIERA, directed by Hans Herbots and Phillipp Kadelbach and produced by Archery Pictures premieres on June 15th on SKY ATLANTIC. Julia Stiles stars as the new wife of a billionaire, who uncovers the dark and violent secret affairs behind her new husband’s fortune after he is killed in a Yacht explosion.
