LONDON FILM FESTIVAL DAILY PICK: MY FATHER’S SHADOW

LONDON FILM FESTIVAL DAILY PICK: MY FATHER’S SHADOW!

As the London Film Festival continues, we’ve been discovering more standout titles that showcase the diversity of voices shaping contemporary cinema.

One that particularly resonated with us is ‘MY FATHER’S SHADOW’ , the debut feature from Akinola Davies Jr, screening in the First Feature Competition and recently announced as the UK’s official submission for Best International Feature Film at the Academy Awards. Set in Lagos, the film follows two brothers spending a rare day with their father, Fola (Ṣọpẹ́ Dìrísù), as they begin to understand him and the sacrifices he has made, all against the backdrop of Nigeria’s presidential election.

MY FATHER’S SHADOW’ is an intimate portrait of family, legacy, and the quiet moments that define understanding.
